My 6th week in China. Can you beleive it? I cannot! Time flies! Longer i'm staying, more comfortable I feel. Probably my subconscient is aware i'll be soon get to Nepal, and then i'm more relax...
Well anyway, I travelled quite a lot for the past 10 days. After 3 mice days on Yangtze River, I spent 2 hot days in Wuhan (hot because of the weather, and hot because the train tickets I wanted were soldout). Eventually I got to Zhengzhou in the middle of the night and met a nice Chinese student from Shanxi province. He gave me some advices and I took the first bus to Luoyang (6.30am). Not a really nice town but 13km from the center stands Langmen Caves where Buddhas were sclupted in the stones centuries ago. That was great!
Then travelling to Pingyao, nice small town (well, 500000 inhabitants but much less inside the wall) with the oldest wall of China. I've visited Wang Dinasty House (huge, i'm wondering how many people were living there), and an old underground castle. Interesting & surprising. I then went to Datong to visit the fabulous Yangang caves.
And now Yunchuang where a member of CS hosts me for the w.e. Sunday evening I'll take a new train to Xining, 3000m altitude, and closer than ever to Tibet. Just need to meet right people at right moment ;-)
