Indian's story: Missing people

(from The Times Of India - 22.02.2008)

Surprising statistics, yesterday, in the newspaper. They could write: "Mumbai, the town where you can be lost forever"
Apparantly, from the police record, every month, almost 1000 peoplego missing!
Of course, there are several explanations, and not because they don't find out the way to their home :-)
But still. it's a lot, isn't it?
So, few expanations about these misings: they are victims of organised gangs of traffikers, they are killed, or they may also be knocked down on the road by rush driving to end up as unclaimed bodies, ect...
In 2007, 11168 people were reported missing in the 84 police stations in Mumbai.
They add: one out of every five of these missing persons is lost forever.
This is scary.

petite escapade au Gujarat

hello everyone!!
how is going on??...

After 3 weeks in Rajasthan, i'm now in Gujarat. I found out the sun and the heat :-)
This is GREAT!! it's a bit too cold actually in Rajasthan.
I read on a newspaper, they have some problems with the cold, especially during the night (during daytime, it's around 20 degres, so that's okay). So the children start school one hour later than usual...

Well. What else...
I spent one and hald day in Mount Abu. I liked it.
1220m altitude, the view was wonderful, the night was ... cold. i used 3 blankets :) It was touristic, but maybe 95% indian tourists and 5% foreigners :-D
Then i have been to Ahmedabad for 2 days, but i didn't like it. 5 millions inhabitants, polluted, very noisy. But a very good organic restaurant!! (it can't be that bad)

And now i'm in Div Island (pronounciation: Di-ou). Like in paradise. It doesn't look India. It's a quite clean, not dusty, and calm. I love India, but it's nice too have a break in a quiet place. So i think to stay more-less one week, just enjoy and go to Sasan Gir Lion Sanctuary for one or two days. It's 3 & half hours North from Div. maybe on Wednesday. Will see...
So yesterday, I have been to 2 beaches :), seen a temple, the sunset point, and i ate a wonderful dinner my guesthouse organised.
...Considering it, maybe i'm going to stay to Marsh here :0 :)
